- At the bottom of the navigation pane, click Calendar. On the Home tab, click Meeting. To send the invitation from an account that isn't your default account, select an account from the From list. In the To box, enter the names of people or resources to include for the meeting.
- At the bottom of the left navigation pane, select People. On the Home tab, select New Contact List. Important: If the New Contact List option is greyed out, set your preferences to Show my 'On My Computer' folders, and then return to finish creating.
I'm a recent convert to Mac from Windows 10. I'm using Outlook for Mac version 16.34 that is connected to my employer's Office 365. My main issue is that all options under the Tools menu are greyed out with the exceptions being Sync and Accounts. I've deleted my Outlook mailbox and re-added with no change. I have a user who cannot open a shared calendar nor set calendar permissions. In her Outlook client these two buttons are both grayed out. On a side note she cannot set up an Out of Office reply as this is also grayed out. I followed the steps in the link below and that did not resolve the calendar issue. Select Add to Smartsheet in the upper-right corner of the Outlook window. NOTE: If you don’t see the Smartsheet for Outlook add-in, it may need to be installed.
Honestly, if the Out of Office options are greyed out, it sounds like the account was not added as an Exchange type account (IMAP instead).
What is the server, in-house ? If so, what version and SP level of Exchange ? Needs to be Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2 or later, per https://support.office.com/en-us/article/General-requirements-for-Outlook-2016-for-Mac-A07A593D-B383...
I have an account with MS-hosted Exchange (not Office 365 but the completely equivalent Exchange-only MS hosting) and this 'just works,'
both adding a shared calendar and Out of Office settings.
